For those of you that have been traveling along the adventure well then buckle up for another great bunch of stories.

So myself, Josh, Nick, Dave, Sean, John, Max, Lewis and Liam had all just spent three amazing action packed days on the beautiful Hamilton island. Dave had captured some awesome footage on his Action Camera he couldn’t wait to show us. In fear of a repeat of our last ferry experiences the rest of the boy tenderly got back on the boat. Liam and myself however were ready for another wild ride. Fortunately for the rest of our friends but unfortunately for Liam and I, the ride back to the main land was all smooth sailing. However, I can’t say the same for the rest of the trip. As we made our way back to main land we had a good laugh over the footage Dave had captured on his Action Cam. In particular the footage of Nick getting repeatedly thrown off the tow tube.

Arriving back to main land we we’re once again at Arlie Beach, excited to crack on with the next leg of our Adventure we headed back to the cars. John suddenly starts franticly shuffling through his gear as a few moments went by, the rest of us clued on to what was happening. Nick couldn’t find his keys, panic ensued the next thing you know all eight of us had our luggage completely dumped on the floor off the car park but the keys were no were to be found. Josh the driver of our other vehicle luckily still had his keys. So, he jumped on his UHF Radio to see if he could contact the ferry. Josh spent a good while scanning the UHF channels in the hopes for a response. low and be hold after half an hour of searching a voice came booming through his UHF Radio it was the ferry captain. He’d in fact found Nick’s keys but unfortunately wouldn’t be making another trip back to mainland until the next morning.

Half an hour of harsh but friendly banter then ensued directed at our good friend but idiot Nick. Afterwards we decided to setup camp in the only place we could, the car park. Despite the terrible situation we all actually found it quite funny. Dave captured some hilarious footage on the action camera of the juxtaposition of our full camp site setup in a mundane carpark.

Due to the fact we were in a carpark and not a designated campsite we were concerned about using fire too cook. Luckily Josh’s rig had a complete 12 volt setup. He had two massive dual batteries that allowed him to run a powerful 3000w inverter. So, we plugged his portable induction cook top straight into the inverter and honestly it felt like we were just cooking at home. The inverter worked a treat and it happed to be super windy as well so luckily, he had a dual battery system because using the induction cook top was actually a huge plus.

The next morning, we awoke to the Ferry Captain coming through Josh’s UHF Radio. Now we had Nick’s keys we were ready to roll. That was until Nick went to start his car and realised his battery was flat. Nick unfortunately didn’t have a dual battery setup so his battery was well and truly flat. So, we went around the carpark asking if any had Jumper Leads, luckily Nick remembered he in fact had a Lithium Jump Starter in his car. So finally, we were ready to hit the road and make our way to Townsville.

After around two hours of driving, we were well and truly ready for some lunch. So, we stop off at a nice swimming hole along the way. Making good use of Josh’s inverter and dual battery system we cooked up some hamburgers on the induction cook top.

Max grabbed out his remote controlled camera Drone to grab some shots of the beautiful water hole. Dave not knowing Max had a camera Drone he couldn’t believe he hadn’t got it out already. Shocked and confused Dave was furious as the remote controlled drone would have made such a great addition to Dave’s action camera footage. To make maters worse his action cam was currently dead as when Josh was looking over the footage he’d left it on. Luckily, he could plug it straight into the 12v Accessory Panel in the back of Nick’s car.

After a refreshing dip and some tasty hamburgers, we were ready to get on the road once again. We were ready but I don’t think the universe was. Nick however had left his lights on and again had flattened his car battery. Yet again we cracked out the trusty Lithium Jump Starter to save the day. Josh was sitting pretty with his dual battery setup until just before we go to leave an engine fault came up on his dash. Normally this would be highly confusing not knowing whether we should continue on our two hour drive. But it was Nick to the rescue this time, he had an Engine Data Scan in his car. The Engine Data Scan allowed Josh to find out exactly what was the issue and allowed us to quickly fix it.

After a strenuous and hilariously fun journey we’d finally made it, we could see the sign ahead welcome to Townsville. Josh jumped on his UHF Radio and was screaming with excitement to us in Nick’s car. With the Action Camera footage to prove it, well truly it had been a big Journey with so many up and downs but overall, it had been a truly great Adventure.

1332 kilometre drive from Brisbane to Townsville when myself and eight of my close mates Josh, Nick, Dave, Sean, John, Max, Lewis and Liam started out we had know idea what we where in for. But it has been such a great Adventure I’m sure it will be one we talk and laugh about for many years to come.

Bringing this series to a close I thank you for following our five part journey, and until next time, go out there and make yourself your own memorable adventure.

This is the fifth instalment of the Brisbane to Townsville Road trip Adventures, so to get the most from this instalment check out part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4.
