So, to make it super easy and super affordable we have put together a range of complete energy packs<\/strong> <\/a>that have everything you need to get started. With these you can run your camping fridge<\/a><\/strong>, camp lighting<\/a><\/strong>, charge your ipad or laptop and even run a coffee machine or hairdryer wherever you are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you want a portable power setup<\/a><\/strong> that you can take in and out of your car or if you want all the important components of a permanent setup in your vehicle this is what you need!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having power on tap wherever you are all starts with a battery <\/a><\/strong>\u2013 this stores all the power you\u2019ll need for your next weekend away. Adventure Kings Batteries<\/a><\/strong> give you power on tap, even when your vehicle isn\u2019t running. Plus, they have two really important features- Number one is that they\u2019re an AGM battery<\/a><\/strong>, which means they\u2019re sealed and safe to carry and use inside your vehicle \u2013 they won\u2019t leak or release any gasses during normal use. AGM batteries<\/a><\/strong> also offer excellent power storage and power output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And number two is that they\u2019re a deep cycle battery<\/a><\/strong> which means they\u2019re designed to constantly output power to run your fridge and camping gear hour after hour and day after day \u2013 not like your starting <\/strong>battery<\/strong> <\/a>that is used once for a second or two and then is charged right back up by your car alternator!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your battery stores all the power you\u2019ll need for a weekend away, then combining it with a battery box <\/a><\/strong>makes it super easy to access and use all your power! In your complete energy pack you\u2019ll either get a Battery Box<\/strong> <\/a>for your 98<\/strong> <\/a>or 115Ah battery<\/a><\/strong>, or you\u2019ll get a MAXI battery box<\/strong> <\/a>for your 138Ah battery<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 they have the same features, the MAXI is just bigger to fit the larger size battery!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, you simply put your battery into a battery box<\/a><\/strong>, connect up the wiring to the bolts on your battery terminals, tighten them up with a 13mm spanner, then strap the lid down and you get power connections and plugs galore!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First you\u2019ve got a LCD screen with a button so you can check your battery voltage at a glance \u2013 about 13V is full and down around 12.3V is 50%. You\u2019ve got 2 USB ports on the back so you can charge your devices \u2013 plus there\u2019s a 12V socket so you can easily run a camping fridge<\/a><\/strong> all weekend! These are all connected to an easily resettable circuit breaker for safety!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also screw terminals on the front here, with a direct connection to the battery<\/strong> <\/a>terminals and finally there are these quick connect anderson-compatible plugs up top which work as both power in or power out! So you can run a fridge or plug in a solar panel<\/a><\/strong> to keep your battery<\/strong> <\/a>charged up so you can stay at camp even longer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of solar<\/a><\/strong>, the complete energy packs<\/a><\/strong> give you the choice of a folding solar panel<\/a><\/strong>, or a folding solar blanket<\/a><\/strong>. These will both plug right into your battery box and charge up your battery<\/strong> <\/a>with free power from the sun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because they\u2019re a full kit, they each come with all the wiring you need as well as a solar regulator<\/a><\/strong> \/ controller \u2013 these work as the \u201ccharger\u201d part of the circuit, taking the power from the solar panel<\/a><\/strong> and adjusting it to best charge your battery<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your battery<\/strong> <\/a>is empty, it allows lots of power and as it gets closer to full, the solar regulator will lower the amount of charging power to protect your battery<\/a><\/strong>! This means you can leave your solar<\/strong> <\/a>on all day every day and it\u2019ll keep your battery<\/strong> <\/a>properly charged and topped up – which is exactly what an AGM battery<\/a><\/strong> wants for a long life!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re not sure which solar panel\/ blanket<\/a><\/strong> you need, drop into your local 4WD Supacentre<\/a><\/strong> company store and chat to our staff \u2013 they can talk you through the whole range and all the available sizes and types!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 250W folding panels<\/a><\/strong> are a bit bigger, but they make it easier to catch the sun as they have built in legs and you can angle them easily \u2013 they provide up to 13.74 amps of charge in ideal conditions \u2013 that means you can recharge a 98Ah deep cycle battery<\/a><\/strong> from half full to full in about 4-6 hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solar Blankets<\/a><\/strong> pack up smaller, but you need to position them somewhere they\u2019ll get the most sun! A great spot is your windscreen, which angles the panel and shades your car interior. The 200W blanket<\/a><\/strong> uses a modern MPPT regulator<\/a><\/strong> and can provide up to 16.3 amps of charge in ideal conditions \u2013 that means you can recharge that same battery in about 3-5 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complete energy pack<\/strong> <\/a>also comes with an extra 10m solar extension lead<\/a><\/strong>, which means you can park in the shade, and still set up your solar in direct sun! This way you stay cool and let the solar do all the hard work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can either fit it up to the outside screw terminals, which will allow you to easily charge and power day to day devices and appliances, or you can directly connect to the battery terminals, run the cables out these handy openings in the battery box<\/strong> <\/a>and run your heavy duty appliances like coffee machines, tools and microwaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
