CAMPING KNIFE
One of the most useful bits of gear you can add to a set of storage drawers<\/strong><\/a> is a good sharp camping knife! We’re not talking Mick Dundee-type blades here, just a nice all-purpose blade that you can use for everything from opening cans of food to buttering a sanger. Keep a sharpening stone in your tuckerbox so you can keep it in top nick whenever it needs a bit of attention. Keep a knife in your rear drawers<\/strong><\/a> and handle just about any job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FIRELIGHTERS
You should never go camping without a packet of firelighters in your rear 4WD drawers<\/a>! <\/strong>They go hand-in-hand with the flint, and will kickstart a fire quickly. Crumble them up and sprinkle them over some dry leaves and bark and hit it with the flint \u2013 it’ll be the easiest-starting fire you’ll ever get going. Get really tricky by adding BBQ bricks to an empty egg carton \u2013 just light the carton and watch the fire kick off! AXE AND BLOCK SPLITTER
Okay, this is kind of a two-for-one deal, but a good quality axe or hatchet, and ideally a block splitter too, are great tools to keep in your rear drawers for camping<\/a>! <\/strong>You don’t have to spend the earth to get a decent axe and block splitter these days. In a pinch you can of course use the axe for both tasks, but any job’s made that much easier with the right tools. WELDER’S GLOVES
A set of welders gloves take up next to no space in your rear drawers<\/strong><\/a> but are so essential. LED STRIP LIGHTS
LED strip lighting take up bugger all room in your rear 4×4 drawers<\/strong><\/a> and can be installed almost anywhere. However, if you\u2019re after uncompromised convenience, running LED strips along the length of your awning on its underside would have to top the list. The trick is to strategically position them for an even spread of light, then permanently mount them into place. It\u2019s a good idea to use a weather proof plug to disconnect the wiring harness when the awning and lights are packed away in your rear drawers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A GOOD CAMPING TORCH
We\u2019d never go camping without a good quality LED camping torch and a couple of LED headlamps packed away in our rear storage <\/strong><\/a>drawers. Pretend you’re scared of the dark when it comes to buying lighting \u2013 buy good stuff, and buy as much as your bank balance will allow. LED is the only type of camp lighting worth investing in these days \u2013 gas lamps are fragile, halogen suck a lot of battery juice for the amount of light they put out. Grab a couple of head torches, and some of those bright buggers with the big magnet on the back \u2013 instant camp lighting. And don\u2019t forget to throw some AA batteries in your storage drawers <\/strong><\/a>too, if your LED lights run on them \u2013 otherwise there\u2019s not a whole lot of point carrying the LED lights!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPARE MATCHES OR CIGARETTE LIGHTERS
The final thing we\u2019d always keep in our rear storage drawers<\/strong><\/a> is a simple but essential one \u2013 some way to light your fire \u2013 and MULTIPLE options for that too!
