And why wouldn\u2019t it \u2013 it\u2019s the perfect mix of tough 4WDing, stunning scenery and natural beauty, and incredible camping opportunities. One of the most common questions we hear about Cape York is whether you can take an offroad camper trailer<\/a><\/strong> to Cape York, and whether you\u2019ll have a good time or whether you\u2019ll spend most of the time doing 4WD recoveries<\/strong>. <\/a>Here\u2019s the plain truth, spoken from years of experience \u2013 YES, you definitely can take your hard floor camper trailer<\/a><\/strong> or soft floor camper trailer<\/a><\/strong> to Cape York. You can even take a hybrid caravan<\/strong> <\/a>if you\u2019re game!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truth is that while there are lots of videos online of places like Gunshot Creek and Palm Creek showing vehicles massively bogged, that\u2019s only a very small percentage of the 4WDing you\u2019ll experience up in Cape York. The rest is mostly dirt roads, and even the Old Tele Track and the Frenchman\u2019s Track are long bits of high-range 4WDing punctuated by short, challenging river crossings.
