WHY IT\u2019S A CRACKER OF A WEEKEND DESTINATION:<\/strong> The Vic High Country is a pretty obvious one for a sensational weekender. WHAT THE 4WDING IS LIKE IN THE AREA:<\/strong> Depending on the time of year you go, the tracks can range from pretty easy going to pretty gnarly. Having said that if there is one thing that pretty much all the tracks have in common \u2013 It\u2019s how steep they are!<\/span><\/p>\n MODIFICATIONS NEEDED:<\/strong> A quality set of off-road tyres, a\u00a0Raw 4×4 2in lift <\/a>, a Domin8rX winch<\/a> a Hercules Complete Recovery Kit<\/a> are all a smart idea if you\u2019re keen on serious exploring. A snorkel is also a good idea, as some of the river crossings can get pretty deep!<\/span><\/p>\n CAMPING AND FACILITIES:<\/strong> There are campsites everywhere in the High Country, so you\u2019re never pressed for one to a spot to roll out your Adventure Kings Big Daddy Deluxe Swag<\/a> or set up your Adventure Kings Kwiky Pop Up Roof Top Tent<\/a>. Talbotville is a sensational grassy spot right by the Crooked River and is one of our favourites<\/span><\/p>\n FACILITIES:<\/strong> There are a few basic facilities at some of the more popular campsites, but your best bet is to be self sufficient<\/span><\/p>\n RATING:<\/strong> 5\/5<\/span><\/p>\n BEST TIME TO VISIT:<\/strong> OCTOBER TO JUNE (Seasonal closures from June long weekend to October long weekend)<\/span><\/p>\n NEAREST SUPPLIES\/ FUEL:<\/strong> DARGO <\/span><\/p>\n MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT:<\/strong> Head to the legendary Dargo pub for a cracker of a night. Camping out the back will set you back about 10 bucks, but make sure you get yourself a counter meal at the pub followed by a few cold ones to support the pub!<\/span><\/p>\n TOP TIP FOR VISITING THIS AREA:<\/strong> Be prepared for inclement weather. The weather in the High Country can change before you know it.
