We love a good weekend escape, after a massive week of work, there is absolutely NOTHING we can think of we love better than packing the 4WD and hitting the tracks, but we\u2019ve lost count of all of the times we get to camp and forgot to chuck a few drinks in the fridge in the rush to get out on the tracks!<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t the end of the world though, we have a really handy trick to instant frosty ones that only takes a couple of minutes!<\/p>\n
If you remembered to turn your Adventure Kings Fridge\/Freezer on when you chucked it in the back, we have an awesome trick to making sure you have a frosty beer or two ready for you as soon as you finish setting up camp.<\/p>\n
This trick only takes about 10-15 minutes in total and will give you a frosty beer whilst setting the mood for a great weekend trip away!<\/p>\n

First things first, you will need to prepare your beer ready to chuck into the fridge to chill, it takes only a couple of seconds and will revolutionize the way you think about preparing a refreshing beer.<\/p>\n
Take one or more of your favorite frothy beverages, make sure you grab one for your better half too, or you\u2019ll be in big trouble!<\/p>\n
Now grab a roll of paper towel (or unused toilet paper in a pinch) and take enough paper to wrap around the can or bottle without being ridiculous, if you use too much paper this trick simply won\u2019t work. Now dampen your paper towel until it is just wet enough to stick to your can or bottle, and wrap it around the drink leaving the base of the container where it rests on a surface uncovered as best you can, this will prevent it from sticking to the bottom of your Adventure Kings Fridge Freezer and creating excess internal icing!<\/p>\n
Now stash all of your wrapped drinks in the Adventure Kings Fridge Freezer (set to -10\u00b0C) and seal and latch the lid properly, if your freezer is not cold enough then you will have to wait a little bit longer till its temperature drops cold enough for this to work.<\/p>\n
If you have an Adventure Kings Setup you should set a 15-minute timer, so you don\u2019t pull them out too late as this trick is extremely effective and you don\u2019t want your beers exploding whilst you are setting up camp!<\/p>\n
Unroll your Adventure Kings Awning<\/strong>,<\/a> unfold your Roof Top Tent<\/strong><\/a>, or peg out your Big Daddy Deluxe swag<\/strong><\/a>, and sit back and relax in your Adventure Kings Throne Camp Chairs<\/strong><\/a> for another 10 minutes.<\/p>\n Whilst you are waiting, we\u2019ll run over why this trick works.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There are 2 main reasons scientists think this happens, when a liquid evaporates off a surface it takes heat with it off the surface it evaporates off, this is called evaporative cooling and is how sweat keeps us cool and also how the internals of your fridge freezer system works. Any humidity in the air at -10\u00b0C will instantly freeze which results in an extremely dry environment, which makes your freezer an extremely dry place, which is perfect for chilling our beers!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The next reason scientists think this quick chill trick works is because of the ability of liquid water to transfer heat, which is exactly how a radiator in a vehicle works circulating cold water past the hot cylinders inside the engine, your beer effectively warms the water jacket y ou have created around the outside of your beer, and the freezer takes the heat out of the water jacket quickly and effectively.<\/p>\n This technique dramatically increases the speed that the freezer can remove excess heat energy from the beer!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you use too much water, or too many wraps of paper towel, you will end up needing more cooling for this to work than by simply putting your cans or bottles straight into the fridge, this is because a thick layer of water and paper will act like a warm jacket and insulate your drinks from the cooling effect of the freezer!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If that is a little too much science for you, just think about how jumping in a river on a hot summer day can quickly cool you to a much more comfortable temperature.<\/p>\n With your campsite set up and by now your campfire lit, you should be ready to grab your beers out of the fridge and have a cheers to the speed it took to chill your hard earned beers down to an icy cold refreshing temperature.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\nBecause of the way this works you need to set your freezer to a seriously cold temperature (we recommend setting your Fridge\/Freezer between -10\u00b0C and -18\u00b0C.<\/p>\n
