The Ultimate Customised Camping Gazebo Camping Setup

July 23, 2021   |   By The Ultimate Customised Camping Gazebo Camping Setup - image 200813-MT1-Camper-Trailer-Snow-Trip-Resized-123-of-527 on https://news.emgcloud.net/news

When it comes to multi-use camping gear, few things are as universally useful as the mighty camping gazebo! We’ve designed our portable gazebos to be all-round useful and incredibly customisable, with a whole range of genuine gazebo accessories that let you customise your new camping gazebo to suit your exact needs.

Here at Adventure Kings, I get the opportunity to play with a heap of different camping gear, and try out all different types of setups. In fact that’s definitely one of the best parts of my job! I’ve setup our 3x3m gazebo and our 6×3 camping gazebo in a heap of different ways, and I want to explain my all-time favourite, because even to this day, I can still picture in my head just how good this setup was, and it’s now become a staple favourite of mine every time I go camping!

In mid-2020 we were down in the NSW Snowies filming content for our new MT1 Camper Trailer preparing for its launch. We’d specifically gone down there mid-winter to do some snow camping and 4WDing, and most of the crew had headed off a day earlier while I waited for my mate Joel to join me in his freshly-built 200 Series Landcruiser that we’d just put a heap of Adventure Kings gear on. The rest of the team had already shot down, trailer and 4WDs loaded with gear, including a 6×3 portable gazebo plus some ideal accessories that I wanted to use to create what I thought would be the ultimate customised camping gazebo setup.

The next day Joel and I had met up with the team at Geehi campground, and when I say it was cold, I mean it! Just take a look at that photo – that’s snow-capped mountains in the background, and in fact just over the top of those mountain peaks is none other than Mt Kosciuszko – Australia’s tallest mountain. Yep, you better believe we had the campfire roaring when we camped down there! Because we had a big group, and because it was so cold, we needed a big shelter solution – and that’s where the Kings 6×3 gazebo comes in.

First, we laid out a 6x3m mesh floor on the ground, because there was a heap of ground moisture about, and that way there’s somewhere clean and dry to hang out on – always a big win in my books. Next, we setup the 6×3 camping gazebo on top, which as the dimensions suggests matches the 6x3m mesh floor perfectly. Okay, that’s the shelter from above and below sorted, now let’s take it to the next level!

The obvious next step is a couple of camping gazebo walls. The Adventure Kings ones we were using measure just shy of 3 metres by 3 metres, meaning they’re perfectly sized for any of the sides of a Kings 3metre gazebo or all six sections of the 6×3 gazebo. These are waterproof and provide protection from wind as well as adding privacy to a campsite, so they’re a big win in my books. In a couple of minutes I had both gazebo walls tied to the frame of the camping gazebo, and could move onto the next bits of gear.

With a fair few of the team camping in their swags at Geehi, and the wind and possible rain and even snow flurries on the cards, the next step proved an absolute winner. On either end of the 6×3 gazebo, we set up the beaut Kings Gazebo hubs. These are a fully-enclosed tent that uses the frame of the gazebo plus a couple of additional external poles and pegs for support, with the end result being a huge tent with heaps of floor space! Inside each gazebo hub, a couple of swags were setup – being completely protected from the elements and making for a nice cosy night’s camping. Of course you could achieve the same thing with a Kings Gazebo Tent under one side of the 6×3 portable gazebo, but we weren’t just looking for night-time camping shelter from our gazebo – we also wanted a nice big communal camping area that we could hanging out in, and with the underside of the portable gazebo left free, that’s exactly what we got!

I really love this setup and think it’s so universally useful. On just about every camping trip we do with half a dozen or more people, we always pack our 6×3 gazebo because you just can’t beat the huge amount of protected shelter it offers. You know what it’s like – a bit of rain comes through for a moment, not enough to send everyone to bed for the night, but enough that everyone ends up huddling under whatever shelter you’ve got. Not that much fun if there’s eight of you trying to stay dry under a 2x3m pull-out awning, especially if you’re in the middle of trying to cook dinner! But with the Kings 6x3m Gazebo, you’ve got so much space that you could comfortably fit a crew of 20+ people and their camp chairs underneath and still have room for a couple of tables, a BBQ and more.

I love just how customisable my 6×3 Gazebo from Adventure Kings is. It’s waterproof, tough as nails and so quick to setup and pack away. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who needs to upgrade their campsite shelter, or if you’re looking for a new way to go camping. With an almost endless list of ways you can customise it to suit your own needs, you’re bound to find the exact setup that you’ve been dreaming of. In fact it’s so good, that once you’ve taken your Kings Portable Gazebo camping, you’ll wonder how you ever went camping without it!
