The Best Spots for a Camping Adventure

July 6, 2022   |   By 4WD Supacentre The Best Spots for a Camping Adventure - image 161017-Beach-camping-set-ups-8-of-21-1 on https://news.emgcloud.net/news

Living in the great southern land known as Australia, leaves you with nothing but the best options for adventure all around the country. As you make your way across the different states, you’ll find areas that differ so much that you can just about encounter all four seasons within the space of a few days if travelling around. If you’ve packed up and have decided to make your way around the country and explore all of these different landscapes, then you will definitely get to see exactly what I am talking about here.

South Australia has some amazing scenery to take in, great southern beaches with a small amount of surf in the right seasons, and definitely plenty of areas for you to throw the line in or wander around taking in the sights while spotting some native wildlife. If you head west into Western Australia, you’ll have no trouble finding more seafood hotspots, amazing coastal beaches, and breathtaking views as you travel the Nullarbor plains into the heart of WA. Begin heading North into the Northern Territory and you will be taken back to natural landscapes and amazing scenery with Uluru among the hotspots for a great view, and plenty of hot springs to unwind in after a long day’s travel. Queensland will have you wanting to stay with amazing scenery and plenty more beaches with warmer weather and heading down into NSW will serve you with the same, but the swell of Bondi will surely want you to stay still for longer than you’d planned. Then of course Victoria to finish off, with nothing better than the landscapes surrounding the Great Ocean Road, showing off all that this beautiful country has to offer along the way.

Heading around the whole of Australia is certainly a worthwhile trip, and if you’re savvy enough, you can do it in a few short months (or longer if you prefer!) and certainly not have to spend a whole lot along the way. Free camping or picking cheaper areas to stop will not hurt the bank and you’ll get to enjoy all the same offerings, but simply sleep in a cheaper spot. Of course, you will need to ensure you are correctly prepared before going the long way around, and make sure you have enough things packed to keep the entire family entertained. If you’re just looking to take in the sights and enjoy the company of your family, then a basic setup to keep you all comfortable will be just what you are after. This won’t take much packing, and as long as you have clothes to wear, something to cook your food with and somewhere to sleep you’ll be just fine.

Others may be a little more adventurous and may want to tackle some of the fierce landscapes along the way, and this may require a couple more things to ensure you stay on the right track the whole time. If you’re looking to head deeply off-road along your adventure then you will want some decent all-terrain tyres, tyre deflators and inflators, and definitely some tyre repair kits and a decent high lift jack as standard. And if you’re lacking in room, you may want to add some roof racks or tub racks to your rig to allow for more storage or even chuck a few spare tyres up above for quick changeouts as you go.

If you’ve got kids that like to live on the wild side, then you may want to pack some extra adventure gear for those stops at the beaches and scenic locations and that will certainly help you to fill up the roof racks as well. There are some simpler things to keep the kids entertained that won’t take up a huge amount of space and they can include remote control cars, collapsible fishing gear, kites or even drones if they like to have a bird’s eye view and take a few snapshots along the way. However, if space is not an issue for you, then you can always chuck a tinny on the roof, or a blow-up vessel if that is more your style and be sure to grab the kids some stand up paddle boards or boogie boards for enjoying a little bit of a paddle or catching some quick waves at the passing white sand beaches along the trip. These will not break the bank and are rather versatile ensuring they last throughout the whole trip and beyond from there, to create some great, cheap fun for all.

Next level adventure would see you have a full-blown off-road camper set-up, and this will create the ultimate adventure and surely keep your accommodation costs lower as you make your way around the country. Most campers have all the bells and whistles and a lot of the luxuries that you would normally find at home as well so this will be sure to keep the kids happy. Regardless of how much outdoor fun you can pack into a trip like this, no doubt someone inside your ride is going to want some sort of electronic device during the trip, so it is a definite must have to make sure you have the capability to charge devices and run power within your set-up. A simple solar set-up with a battery or two will allow you absolute comfort and keep all of your electric gear firing so that you can enjoy some comforts along the way.

Before you plan the ins and outs of your big trip, be sure to check out 4WD Supacentre and the friendly team will help you decide on what will be best for your set-up, or even provide you with a set-up to get moving. They’ll help you build a kit from the ground up, so you can spend more time concentrating on where to go and where to stay, rather than worry about what you may have forgotten to keep your camping adventure rolling. A trip of a lifetime only comes if you have everything you need for a stress free trip.
