Storage Drawers Are The Ultimate Upgrade For a Dual-Cab Ute

The amount of modifications you can make to a dual-cab ute to make it better for camping or work is insane! In fact, it’s only really limited by your imagination. However you want to setup your dual-cab ute, there’s a huge assortment of gear available here at Adventure Kings to help you out. However we think as good as all the other modifications are, there’s one true KING of dual-cab ute mods – and that’s a set of Titan 1300mm Ute Drawers!

There are so many reasons that Titan drawers for utes make the perfect upgrade. As a ute owner you’re probably used to carrying a lot of gear, whether it’s for yourself or when a mate asks you to move. And in those scenarios, there’s nothing worse than loading the back of your ute up to the brim and then struggling to find what you’re looking for! Instead, with a set of Titan ute drawers what you’ll find is that you are able to pack smaller gear into the drawers – things that would often go missing and take forever to find, like tools, small camping gear such as tent pegs and guy ropes, and those sort of things. That way, even if the rest of your ute canopy is loaded up, you can easily get into the Titan rear drawers to quickly get a hammer or a set of pliers when you need to!

Not only do you gain a whole heap of better gear organisation, but in effect a set of rear 4×4 drawers fitted into the back of your ute actually increases your usable storage space! You know what it’s like – you stuff the back of your ute with gear, but usually by about 2/3 of the way up the canopy you’re fighting to get things into that last remaining space at the top. Instead, what you’re doing is gaining a whole new level of storage – drawers down the bottom that pull out to store gear, and then on top you’ve got an entire huge flat section that is basically the new floor of your ute tub!

The other truth of the matter is that Kings Titan rear drawers for 4WDs are so incredibly easy to install. They come 95% pre-assembled – there’s no flat-pack nonsense here, trying to connect bolt A to thread C. Just take them out of the boxes and inside you’ll find clear colour step-by-step instructions. For a dual-cab ute installation, the idea is to secure them through the floor of your ute tub by drilling four large holes and bolting right through from the underside. If that sounds a little full on, don’t sweat it – in reality it’s not that big a job at all. Then it’s a case of a bit of basic work with the included allen key to fit the drawer stops and the tops and you’re done. If you’ve never installed a set of rear 4WD drawers before, allow yourself two to three hours to fit a set of Titan 1300mm ute drawers and you’ll have plenty of time, even if you go easy and slow! Here’s a good tip if you’re installing 4×4 drawers at home and you have a small impact driver handy. The button and flat head bolts that hold the top of the drawers onto the frame all use a 3mm hex head bit – and it’ll speed up your install massively if you use it! Just don’t use a drill – as the torque of a drill can strip out the bolt heads and then you’ll lose any time you’ve gained.

Need EXTRA security in the back of your ute? The sad truth is there are a lot of sticky fingers and prying eyes out there. What I really love about Titan storage drawers is that they’re lockable and ultra tough! Both drawers feature locking latches, so if you’re a tradie with expensive tools then the ability to hide them away from people who think they’re entitled to your gear more than you are is a massive benefit.

Tradies LOVE Titan rear drawers too – because in many cases they’re able to claim the cost of the upgrade against their work if they’re a sole trader or have a business. After all you’ve gotta get your tools to and from the jobsite somehow right, and if you can protect them and secure them in between jobs then even better. Of course everyone’s situation is different so don’t take this as financial advice (we have trouble counting past 10 without taking our shoes off anyway), but it’s well worth speaking to your accountant to get their sign-off.

A set of quality Titan storage drawers will simply transform your dual-cab ute in so many ways. Whether you’re a tradie hauling tools to and from jobsites, an avid camper looking for better ways to store your camping gear or you’re a DIY handyman who loves getting their hands dirty on weeks, you’ll love how much of an upgrade these amazing rear drawers for 4x4s are. And when you consider that they’re built ultra-strong, look amazing too and even come with a built-in camping fridge slide, you’ll see just how good value they are. You can even stack a third single Titan storage drawer on top of a set of twin drawers for a TRIPLE drawer setup, or bolt two single drawers on top of each other with a separate fridge slide on the floor next to them to really customise your setup. However you choose to setup your rear storage drawers you’re guaranteed to love them. In fact once you’ve installed a set of Titan rear drawers, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without them!
