Safety at night with LED Driving lights!

If you’ve ever found yourself driving late at night on country roads, you’ll quickly realize just how inadequate your vehicles headlights really are!

The cars you see in the bush are often fitted with either a bright LED Lightbar or a set of bright LED Driving Lights to light up the tracks ahead and make sure the hazards like Kangaroo’s, Wombats, and even poorly maintained roads, don’t catch you off guard.

Why would I want LED Lights on my vehicle? -This one is easy, not only are they a lot brighter than your vehicles factory headlights by many times, but also they fill in the bigger picture with the Domin8r LED Lightbars spreading light up to 150° to the sides, clearly illuminating the sides of the road as well as projecting light a lot further than the factory headlights can!

To put things in perspective, a factory H4 halogen bulb, outputs around 1100 Lumens per globe (2200 per pair) which can project to around 100m or so, at 100km/h you are travelling around 30m per second, and with a typical reaction time ranging between 2.5 seconds and 5 seconds to make a decision and respond to a hazard you really only have around 3.3 seconds of vision ahead, this doesn’t account for much margin of error and often ends poorly for the driver without LED lights!

We know that is enough logic to convince you, that you are missing out without a set of LED Lights. This probably means that you are looking for a bright set of lights, if this is the case an Adventure Kings Osram 9” LED Driving light is perfect!

Offering 22,970 Lumens of light output and hitting a range of around 863m down to a usable 1 Lux that’s approximately 28 second heads up of any oncoming hazards, which can truly make or break your night drive.

It’s not all math’s though, the brightness of the lights is one thing but the visibility, clarity and focus are what is important with a set of aftermarket LED lights, to get these features you require a number of factors to come together to ensure that night vision isn’t effected!

First up for visibility it is important to ensure the “temperature” is correct for your application, put away your thermometer we’re talking about the colour temperature, if you haven’t heard of colour temperature before, the simplest explanation is the warmth of the light, with lower numbers being warmer tones, 1000 Kelvin is something akin to candle light – where daylight is a magical range between 5000K -6500K this range of light gives the human eye, the optimum amount of clarity and sharpness.

At Adventure Kings we ensure that our lights are between 6000-6500K which ensures your eyes will have absolute sharpness helping to identify any hazards up ahead, the added benefit to this colour temperature of light is that it tricks your brain into being more alert making tired eyes nearly a thing of the past.

On top of the sharpness afforded by using the right colour temperature of LED light, the Adventure Kings LED Driving lights all take advantage of highly refined focused housings- the reflectors have reflective coatings on both sides to prevent any light being lost through transmission through the reflector material, as well as being extremely efficient parabolic focused lens housings for the most efficient light projection.

The reflector housings of the LED’s within the LED Driving lights offer a smooth transition between each individual focused beam, creating a clear and full light picture with no shadows or holes resulting in a much clearer image. Unlike the old-fashioned Halogen style globes which due to imperfections in the fragile glass lenses and the shape of the globe, usually results in “patchy” light projection which tends to be shadowy and full of holes and has the tendency to “halo” at greater distances which strains eyes trying to adjust and focus on objects in the distance – LED’s have improved 4WD Driving Lights in a very similar way to the way they have improved the way LED’s have improved the standard quality of light found in a regular hand held flashlight!

Without a doubt, one of the best ways to improve night time driving is to add a set of LED Driving lights to the front of your vehicle, not only do they offer vision much further down the track, but also enhanced clarity and a much wider spread of light than found with traditional headlight high beams, as well as being robust, waterproof and MUCH more affordable than you’d imagine!

So don’t hold off any longer, head out and get your hands on a pair of Adventure Kings LED Driving Lights for the best value LED lighting available on the market!
