The old scouting motto goes like this “be prepared” even if you weren’t a boyscout (or girlscout) this is excellent advice when you are heading out into the bush. By making sure you are equipped for just about anything you give yourself more of a chance in the event of things not quite going to plan.

We’re going to cover some important things that you need to keep in mind when you are heading out for your next trip that will surely come in handy when you lease expect it too!

The first thing we are going to cover is carrying a fully stocked first aid kit and knowing how to use it!
If there is nothing else that you take from this article, it should be that first aid is critically important, in metropolitan Sydney around 50% of life threatening cases are responded to within 10.6 minutes, this early time during a life threatening emergency can make the difference between survival or not, this means the further off grid you head, the longer it will be before you get back to civilization. So being equipped with an excellent first aid kit and taking professional training to get the knowledge to use it properly are important for keeping your mates safe on the tracks!

At the moment 4WD Supacentre doesn’t offer any first aid training, but we can help you out with the other half of the equation, with a full range of comprehensive first aid kits, you will be catered too no matter what you or your mates encounter on the tracks, from snake bites, burns, and even cardiac arrest, the Survival Vehicle First Aid Kit offers Over 100 first aid components to help with trackside injuries. And improves your chance of survival in remote areas!

The Adventurer Rescue Swag on offer also gives the tools required to keep you and your mates ticking in the bush, whilst also having a Smartphone app that digitally prompts users to the appropriate treatment for different ailments on the tracks!

Now we have first aid covered we can move to the fun bit!

For decades bushies have been repairing their vehicles using the bits and pieces on hand to get them back on the road and back to town. Things like logs, fencing wire and chewing gum have gotten many 4WDers back down s@#t creek even without the paddle.

To assist in unleashing your inner bush mechanic the Adventure Kings team have released a toolkit specifically for the purpose, the Adventure Kings Bush mechanic toolkit, offering over 150 pieces of all the necessary tools to get your 4WD back on track, including a set of screwdrivers with through tang construction, and a hex head on the rear for additional purchase with a spanner when you really need to crack a seized screw.

along with hammers, pliers, a hacksaw, a handful of fuses and even space  for any additional gear you might need, like tie wire, gaffer tape, WD40 and even a 12v soldering iron to get your electricals up and running in a pinch!

unfortunately for us being a bush mechanic is not a trade, but luckily for you it is a frame of mind, and by applying your common sense, and problem solving abilities you can easily get up and running with the right tools for the job thanks to Adventure Kings clever Bush mechanic toolkit!
