We’ve all experienced it, and we’ve all been sucked in by midnight TV, sometimes we become hooked, and other times we find ourselves asking if we really watched what we did, or if it was just a boring dream we had throughout the night. Of course, one of the common things that can be found on any TV basically any time of the day are infomercials, cleverly designed to draw you in at any expense and fill your brain with information surrounding something new on the market, or something that has been there a long time, but a new company thinks they have created a much better version for us all to experience. Many times, they advertise things that look super interesting, and are reasonably priced, but most of the time they have you hooked on watching but thinking about how you’d never need to purchase what it is they have on offer. Usually offering a ‘4 payments of..’ figure to make it seem even better value, you might even get offered a second item ‘absolutely free’ if you buy now, which can sometimes prove to be way too tempting to pass up. Of course, as a kid these fancy items all seem like a dream come true, but in reality, they’re meant for adults and aren’t something you’d need any time soon, but I’m sure there are a few of you out there who quickly dialled the number and punched in the digits of your parents’ credit card and placed an order anyway, just hoping mum and dad would never notice… they did. I personally remember seeing commercials back in the day for things such as knife sharpeners, knife sets, vacuum cleaners, and even vacuum sealers… now we’re talking. Of all the things that popped up on those annoying commercials and midnight TV shows, a vac seal was top of the want list for me because it sounded incredible for all things food storage!
