Cold beers in a heartbeat!

We love hitting a sneaky Friday arvo camp session, leave straight from work, kit up the 4WD and head straight into your favourite campsite. But we’ve all made an unforgivable mistake of picking up a case of beer but forgetting to chuck it in your Kings 12v fridge freezer to get it frosty cold for when you finally get to camp.

We have a handy tip to save you the tedious wait for your beers to get to temp and have you feeling campsite refreshed in less time than it takes for you to set up your campsite!

The first step to chilling a thirst quencher FAST is to prepare your beer cans or bottles ready to chuck into the fridge/freezer, it isnt a complicated process and it takes only a couple of seconds to prep, and it will absolutely revolutionise the way you think about grabbing a refreshing beer both on and off the tracks, or when there wasn’t any more of your favourite beers left in the cool room at your local, on your Friday night supply run before hitting camp!

Take one or more of your favorite bevvies being extra careful to make sure you grab one for your better half, (that’s one of the most important tricks in this tutorial).

Now grab a roll of regular old kitchen paper towel (or fresh from the roll toilet paper in a pinch) and take enough sheets of paper to fully wrap around the can or bottle once or twice without making a mummified beverage, taking care to note that if you use too much paper this trick won’t work as well.

Next, lightly dampen your paper towel until it is just wet enough to stick to your warm can or bottle of beer and wrap it around the drink leaving the bottom surface of the can or bottle uncovered as best as you can, this will prevent it from sticking to the inside of your Adventure Kings Fridge Freezer.

Now into your prechilled freezer stash all of your pre-prepared drinks inside your Adventure Kings Fridge Freezer (set to around -10°C) and seal and latch the lid properly, if your freezer is not cold enough then you will have to wait a little bit longer until its temperature drops cold enough for this trick to work.

Set a short timer of around 10-15 minutes, and get cracking on unrolling your swag, unfolding your awning and getting the fire started and before you know it, you’ll have a freshly chilled beer, or lemonade, ready to sip by your campfire kicking off an already awesome night in the bush after a long week.

This trick can also be used for soft drinks for the kids, or even ciders for those stuck-on gluten free style diets or for the less beer oriented amongst us (and in a pinch, a bottle of white wine for the misso) – So get out camping this summer on a friday night with next to no preparation and a warm case of beer, without the dread of having to force down warm bevvies at camp thanks to your reliable Adventure Kings Fridge Freezer and thinking outside the box!
