This protects your awning from flying away in the wind. This is fairly straight forward on the dirt, but sand presents us with a few challenges.

Typical tent pegs never work in the soft surface! So when running out your guy lines, you will find that they will pull out extremely easily, so an alternative should be arranged, we’ve seen people using anything from old pallet timbers to bury under the sand, to reusable shopping bags filled and buried in the sand to anchor their awnings in the coastal wind.
