All Types of Camping

June 28, 2022   |   By 4WD Supacentre All Types of Camping - image SPACIOUS-size on https://news.emgcloud.net/news

We all know how exciting camping can be and there are many different options when it comes down to just how you want to spend a couple of nights in the outback. Some people enjoy roughing it with the bare necessities and taking as little as they can with them on their adventure and simply just lapping up the wilderness and what they can find out there to enjoy and utilise along the way. Others prefer to do it with a little more in the backpack and this may be better suited for those with young kids or older people that need a bit of comfort but still like to have an adventure along the way. And then of course there are those that just like enjoying full on glamping where they take as much as they can with them that they would have at home in terms of luxury and just utilise it in the outback to take in some peace and serenity while still enjoying their favourite devices, foods and creature comforts that they would have at home and inside the house.

In terms of roughing, it some people go as far as just a sleeping bag and a small tarp for a bit of coverage or maybe even just a swag on the ground and scratching around to find a little bit of wood to start a small campfire and keep themselves warm at night, or to cook up a small bit of tucker for each of their meals. This is where camping began and it has certainly expanded from there, but some people still enjoy getting out in the sticks and doing it tough for a night or two with nothing but a small backpack and next to no luxuries. What seems like extremely hard work to some and not something they would consider doing, is actually quite a thrilling and relaxing experience that everybody should truly have a go at during some point in their lives.

Those who like getting outside and getting their hands dirty but prefer a little more comfort while they do so tend to ensure their camping adventure involves extra toasty sleeping bags, swags like the Big Daddy Deluxe, simple roof top tents, or caravans and camper trailers to keep the luxuries at a moderate level, and at least go to sleep at night enjoying a calm feeling of being the right temperature and well protected from the elements. Modernised camping is perfect for older individuals, or families with kids that can all bunk in together and enjoy the finer things while still being outdoors and doing something different. These camping trips usually involve marshmallows around the fire, playing guitar and singing along to camp songs while wearing a comfy pair of Uggys. Definitely still an enjoyable adventure in my books, although not as thrilling as staring at the stars all night with nothing shielding you from the elements except a sleeping bag or basic swag covering you from the neck down.

Glamping on the other hand is a completely different kettle of fish and is the super modernised version of camping with basically no limits! If you can have it at home, you can have it while camping they say. Since becoming a thing, it has created a way for anyone not normally interested in the outdoors, having an opportunity to try it out without leaving behind any of their luxuries from home. This category of camping definitely doesn’t involve a sleeping bag chucked straight onto the dirt, and even a deluxe swag involves a decent mattress and inside a large premium aluminum roof top tent plenty of quilts or a premium sleeping bag  to keep it extra snuggly and comfortable. Aside from that, avid glampers are known to utilise, camper trailers and fancy caravans, along with the  all the bells and whistles. Some campervan options also include a compulsory rug rolled out next to the entrance to make the whole set up seem that little bit more homely. Imagine being outdoors but having all of the comforts of home, including access to power to charge your devices using a high quality 12 volt system, 3-course meals and endless amounts of chocolate and lollies, that’s just the beginning of glamping. Certainly a huge change from the original form of camping that has been around for decades, however each to their own and as long as they’re enjoying the great outdoors in the beautiful land of Australia, then that is all that matters!

It takes all crowds of people to enjoy different camping genres, but everyone is doing their part to keeping camping alive and enjoying fresh air while teaching their offspring a thing or two about nature and how beautiful the landscapes can be when you enjoy them the way they were meant to be enjoyed. With the school holidays fast approaching all around Australia, campgrounds and fishing holes are bound to be a hive of activity in the coming weeks when hoards of individuals pack up their gear and head outback for an adventure to recharge the batteries. Not only that EOFY sales are on the horizon and that tax return is going to burn a hole in your pockets, anyway, so why not take advantage of a little surplus in the budget and check out the sales at your local camping and adventure store when the deals are rolling hot of the press. There is bound to be some sort of accessories or camping necessities dangling in front of you like a carrot, so take advantage of the end of financial year like we all know how to, spend up big and enjoy your new gear surrounded by friends and family. Who knows, once you start buying, you might find yourself walking out of store with some lux items such as Bluetooth speakers, unbelievably comfortable camping chairs, a portable toilet fit for royalty or even your very own shower set-up to keep you squeaky clean no matter what you get yourself into while on your adventures. Don’t be afraid to glamp it up!
