4wd Supacentre have been changing the camping and 4wd scene for a solid 5 years now. We make camping and 4wding affordable for everyone by providing high quality gear at absolute bargain prices. One of the first things we offered to the public was the now legendary Big Daddy Deluxe Swag.

Before 4wd Supacentre came along, swags like the Big Daddy Deluxe were near impossible to afford for people on a tight budget (myself included). So what we all used to have to do is rough it with a cheapo 1-2 person tent which were freezing cold in winter and stinking hot in summer. Not to mention the fact that they’d leak like a sieve at the slightest hint of rain. The Beauty of the range of Canvas Swags offered by Adventure Kings is the fact that they are perfect for all weather conditions and they definitely wont break the bank! For the past 3 years I have been running none other than the legendary Big Daddy Deluxe Double Swag. This Double Swag has been with me at just about every single campsite I have been to for the past 3 years and let me tell you- I have no plans to change that any time soon. I’ve camped in this swag in some of the harshest conditions Australia has to offer. From the freezing cold Vic High Country in ankle deep snow all the way to the stinking hot top end in 40°+.

Winter Camping

Let’s start off with one of my favourite times of year to head out bush for the weekend- winter. There are a couple of things that make Kings Swags so good in winter. High quality ripstop polycotton canvas and a high density foam mattress are the 2 key features that make swag camping in winter so good. The High quality canvas across all models of Adventure Kings Swags trap your body heat within the swag and provide an excellent layer of protection from the elements. That’s thanks to the fact that it is 100% waterproof which means you’ll stay bone dry and cozy in the heaviest downpour of snow and rain.

The included high density foam mattresses in all models of Camping Swags not only make you feel incredibly comfortable just like your bed at home, but they also offer yet another layer of insulation under your body. In fact it’s a commonly known fact that having a good sleeping mat to trap body heat can be just as important as a sleeping bag. Adventure Kings Swags have a couple of different sized included high density foam mattresses- depending on which model you are after. The Big Daddy Deluxe Swag has an ultra comfy 70mm mattress and both models of our Single Swags come with a 50mm high density foam mattress which make for a super comfy nights sleep compared to the poxy yoga type mats we used to have to put up with.

Summer Camping

Back in the day when all I could afford was a cheapo tent, I used to dread going to bed in the middle of summer because I knew I’d be hot and uncomfortable, resulting in a terrible nights sleep. Well that all changed the day i got my canvas swag from Adventure Kings.

On either side of both the Deluxe Single Swag and the Big Daddy Deluxe Double Swags are large storm flaps which can be pegged out tight to not only keep the rain off your windows, but also to create a gap which air can flow through on hot nights. Both of these Canvas Swag offered by Adventure Kings features midge proof mesh not only on each end, but also on both sides of the swag. This is the single most important feature on any swag to ensure you camp comfortably in the middle of summer. Midge proof mesh will not only keep the bugs out of your swag, but it also allows the cool summer breeze to flow through which means your body heat can escape and you can remain nice and cool throughout the night.

Both the Kings Deluxe Single Swag and the Big Daddy Double Swag have full sized doors on both sides of the swag to reveal the aforementioned full sided midge proof mesh doors. What I normally do is set up my swag either under a Gazebo or an Awning. That way I can leave both sides of the swag rolled up to let the breeze roll through without stressing over the weather turning.

Choosing the right swag for you

Here at Adventure Kings, we have 3 different swags available which will suit just about anyone.
If you are a single person who only needs room for one, then the Deluxe Single Swag is ideal for you. It has the same free standing design as the Kings Double Swag and everything else is virtually the same with the main differences being obviously the size and it has a slightly thinner high density foam mattress.

If you are a minimalist or perhaps you tour on a motorcycle, the Kings Kwiky Swag will make the perfect year round motorcycle camping companion. As the name suggests, this is the quickest swag to set up that we offer and it takes up less space than a pillow when it’s rolled up tight.

For those of you who are like me and need all the space inside a swag you can get, then the legendary Big Daddy Deluxe Swag is what you need. The internal dimensions are a whopping 2150mm long x 1550mm wide x 1000mm high. We have literally fit a queen sized mattress inside one of these. They are perfect for big blokes or couples who want to go camping all year round. Plus, the included 70mm high density foam mattress makes you feel just as comfy as you would be in your bed at home.
