A memorable camper trailer adventure

Let me tell you a tail, a tail of a group of good mates and their memorable camping adventure. These five mates Nick, Dave, Josh, Daz and Sean had been friends since primary school. Now finished school the eighteen year old boys were keen for their first real solo camping adventure.

The boys all Living in Brisbane and close proximity to each other decided to meet at Nick’s house as they were taking his car for the trip. Nick’s father had a brand spanking new Kings MT1 Camper Trailer. This trip had been planned for months and Nick had been continuously pestering his Dad to let him take the camper trailer on the trip. When the crew arrived at his house Nick in fact had a surprise his father had agreed to let the boys take the camper trailer on their adventure. The fellas were beyond excited, this camper trailer was the bee’s knees with literally everything including the kitchen sink. The pull out sink had a completely functional tap that drew water from the included water tank. It also came with a 12 volt 90L fridge/freezer and a pantry compartment. Not only all that but Nicks Dad had also installed on the camper trailer a 12 volt oven and a 270 degree awning.  With the huge storage compartment there was well and truly enough room for all the crew’s gear.

With the camper trailer fully packed and ready to go the boys hit the road and set sail on their much anticipated adventure. The crew was heading to double island for a week of camping, a perfect way to spend their university holidays. Before reaching double island Josh had done some research and found a beautiful water hole the crew could stop at. Being the peak of Queensland summer all the boys we’re extremely keen to go for a refreshing dip. As they first hit the off road track Nick soon become extremely worried about damaging his father’s brand new camper trailer. However even on the hardest parts of the track the offroad suspension of the camper trailer handled it with ease.

As the boys reached the summit of the track they could see a picturesque waterfall flowing into a beautiful deep rock pool down below. Before going for a dip the boys opened up the camper trailer  and decided to have some lunch. Preparing their salad rolls was an absolute breeze as they had easy access to their food due to the camper trailer’s pantry compartment. They even prepared the roll on the fold out pantry table. Grabbing some much needed cold soft drinks from the 12 volt fridge made the crew extremely pleased they had gotten to take Nicks Father’s camper trailer.

Of course, after waiting the required thirty minutes before swimming the crew were ready to go for a dip. The boys first checked the depth of the water and looked for any unexpected objects. Once it was determined the coast was clear the crew climbed the water fall and began to jump off the top of the water fall. Daz was the last to jump but then in fact did a huge backflip. The game was then on, and the battle for who could do the coolest trick was set. As the boys were busy flipping away Dave had the bright idea of going to grab his action camera out of the camper trailer. Dave had gotten this action cam for his eighteenth birthday, so he was extremely excited to use it. He strapped the action camera to his wrist and proceeded to jump off the water fall getting some amazing shots. Sean then had a thought and went and grabbed a floatie from the camper trailer with some double sided tape they stuck the floatie to the back of the action camera. The boys took turns chucking the action cam as high as possible landing it into the water. After the fourth throw it was Josh’s turn the camera went soring high and landed deep in the water. This time however instead of the camera and floatie coming up, it was just the floatie. The floatie had detached from the camera and the action cam had sunk straight to the bottom.

Packed inside the camper trailer luckily was the crew’s snorkelling gear. The boys rushed to the car and started ruffling through the trailer. Franticly diving into the water the gang started searching the depths of the water for the lost action cam. Due to the depth of the water the boys were struggling to have enough air to both dive down plus search the bottom. After about two hours of looking the crew decided to call it quits for the day and setup camp to try again in the morning light.

Nick absolutely stoked with himself and thus couldn’t take the smile of his face as he setup the impressive 270 degree awning on his Dad’s camper trailer.  The rest of the boys slept in swags where as Nick got to sleep in luxury in the premium roof top tent his Father had installed on top of the camper trailer. After the crew finished setting up, they made good use of the pull out kitchen cooking up an absolute storm of a camp meal. The boys had well and truly earnt their dinner after their day of adventures.

It was now the next morning the boys awoke and cooked up a delicious bacon and egg breakfast. Josh however is a vegetarian so using the 1500watt pure sin wave inverter installed on the camper trailer he plugged in a blender to make a healthy fruit and vegetable smoothie.

After letting their food settle the crew got back to work, chucking on their snorkelling gear and diving into the water. After only thirty minutes of searching Dave came up from the water screaming and shouting, he couldn’t believe it he’d found the action cam. The boys weren’t sure if it was flat or broken so they hurried to the camper trailer to plug it in. After ten minutes of charging in the camper trailer the camera lit up and was in fact in complete working order.

Nick, Dave, Josh, Daz and Sean could not believe it between getting to use Nicks Dad’s camper trailer and the miracle of recovering Dave’s action camp this truly was one memorable camping adventure.
