How to improve your time at camp

June 3, 2022   |   By 4WD Supacentre How to improve your time at camp - image on https://news.emgcloud.net/news

Is there anything more embarrassing than being caught with your pants down out in the bush? Well for those of you that wish to keep your dignity in-tact, in can be quite hair raising to find a spot in the outback to do your duties and can sometimes cause people to not want to go camping, for fear of needing a toilet pronto. Aside from that, some of the best camping areas, secluded beaches or of course out on the boat somewhere lack the amenities of a toilet, of which we are all so accustomed to using when we’ve gotta go, that we simply can not live without it, and the thought of having to try can certainly heighten the anxiety levels.

Spending an entire day out fishing on the boat is not something you want to endure if you’ve had a mild curry the night before or are feeling a little off after eating those 3-day old leftovers for lunch, unless you have the bonus option of a toilet near by to make you feel safe and not so helpless in the event of a number 2 creeping up on you. Of course, the ladies can find it super difficult to undertake the famous bush wee like the lads grow up learning and it’s completely understandable if that deters them from wanting to spend a night or two away camping where there simply is no toilet.

With a shovel in, a roll of dunny paper and a million square metres of soil to choose from, it can certainly be done, but dumping your extras into the ground while squatting over a patch of freshly dug dirt can be difficult, messy, uncomfortable, and simply something that most people do not enjoy doing, but when you gotta go, you gotta go! Classic Australian ingenuity has led to some people making their own camping ‘poo chairs’ of which you take a seat with a hole in the bottom and use that to sit more comfortably over the top of the hole in the ground. Making it only a little bit easier to wipe, and clean up after you’re done, but still nothing like sitting on the throne at home. There really is nothing pretty about having to go, but at the end of the day, everyone has to do it at some stage, and by making yourself more comfortable it can provide comfort and solace and allow you to finish up more quickly, and not worry about and spillages or splashes that may have occurred during doing the deed. If only there was a way to make it even easy to go to the toilet, without having a bathroom nearby…

Trust Kings to have this covered! What better way to ease the pressure with a 20L portable Camping toilet from Kings, and for less than 100 bucks, absolute bargain for many different reasons. Not only great for fishing and camping, but if you have kids and have a habit of taking them on long road trips where you ask them time and time again to use the toilet before they leave the house, or when fuelling up because the next stop is 3 hours away, then having the added bonus of a camp toilet on board can be an absolute life saver, and stop the tears or embarrassment of soiled pants and letting it all hang out on the side of the road as other travellers pass by while honking the horn. Small enough to stash away in the boot or back of the 4×4, this is something that everyone will want to use, guaranteed!

Made with 2 completely separate tanks, this comfy little portable thunderbox will keep smiles on faces with a comfortable way to relieve a stomach ache or simply take a quick whizz. The bottom tank is for all of the waste product to flow into, and it has double sealed drains meaning it keeps the bad smells in and allows it to be a little more hygienic with no leakage happening here. The top tank is where you house the fresh water which can be flushed down the drain with the extras with a simple hand motion. With 10L of fresh water you will be able to flush your toilet up to 50 times before needing an empty / refill. The convenient hand powered bilge pump set up is quick and easy, and will ensure whatever you drop in, will flow down into the waste tank for safe keeping until it is ready to be emptied, making this a fully self-contained unit which is safe and sealed enough to chuck back into the car even if has some floaties in the waste tank, and it won’t provide horrid smells from the back end, so don’t believe the young ones when they try to blame the camp toilet. If you’re worried about smells or leakage, or just want to keep it contained and in good condition then of course you could purchase a separate Kings Camp Toilet Canvas Bag to keep it all in one spot with handy carry handles.

Adding comfort and sophistication to your adventures has never been the same, now you can take everything including the kitchen sink with you, but more importantly, the toilet. This travelling throne is easy to clean with access to all areas and is super lightweight making it convenient for just about anywhere. Aside from being quite compact it weighs just over 5kg in total and has handy carry handles, so you don’t need to have it inside a canvas bag to carry it around if you do not wish. Shaped for comfort you will be sure to enjoy your outback adventures a little more, knowing if you need to take a seat, you can do it in comfort and won’t have to contend with sticks, leaves, bugs and more. Now you can concentrate more on staring up at the full moon in the sky while you take 5, instead of sharing a moon of your own with fellow campers. For extra privacy be sure to set it up inside of an instant ensuite or camp shower set up, for that extra piece and quiet.
