Top 5 Water Sports

March 27, 2022   |   By Top 5 Water Sports - image wpp1 on https://news.emgcloud.net/news

Living in Queensland I personally can’t get enough of any water sport. With our beautiful sunshine and crisp hot weather there’s nothing better then cooling off and having a blast at the same time. So, in this article I’m going to walk you through my top favourite water sports and why.

Stand up Paddleboarding is becoming an increasing popular water sports activity across Australia and the world. I think one of the contributing factors of its popularity is the fact that the act of riding a Stand up Paddleboard can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Adventure kings offers two models of Stand up Paddleboards one is an absolute whopping 10 foot and 6 inches high, suited for adults of all shapes and sizes. The other model of Stand up Paddleboard Adventure Kings offers is a kids Stand up Paddleboard. This measures in at 6 foot and 10 inches which is the perfect size for the little ones to move around whilst also being large enough that it has sufficient stability. The best part about both these models is the fact their inflatable Stand up Paddleboard. Because I don’t know about you but fitting a 10 foot paddle board into the back of my wagon would be a bit of a struggle. Personally, I find Stand up Paddleboarding incredibly relaxing, just gently rowing down a creek is a great way to put your mind at ease after a hard week at work.

I in fact own both a Stand up Paddleboard and a Kayak. Now I know you’re probably thinking to yourself aren’t they essentially the same thing. A Kayak and Stand up Paddleboard may seem similar and yes, can achieve a lot of the same task but I like to use both for very different purposes. My Stand up Paddleboard I like to use for a relaxing wind down whilst I go for a gentle paddle in the afternoon or first thing in the morning. Whereas my Kayak on the other hand I love to pack full of gear and head out during the day for a hard core adventure. Kayaks are far superior for covering long distances, hence they are so much fun to use to explore vast river ways especially with running water. Personally, I own a double Kayak so this not only gives me more room for extra gear but also an extra person. Which is super handy to have some company on those long adventures. So my partner and I love going out for a full day of Kayaking together. With a cooler bag filled with lunch, drinks and snacks we can be gone for hours.

Now if I’m camping near or on the beach or heading up the coast for a day trip, I can’t leave home without a Bodyboard. A Bodyboard is such a great way to have some easy fun in the surf. Although I love surfing sometimes the hassle of finding the right wave and waking up early for the best surf isn’t worth it.  So, I love the carefree and stress free alternative of a Bodyboarding. Another great benefit of Bodyboarding is it can really be enjoyed by all, especially beginners. Hence why I like it, as it’s makes for a perfect for a social sport. So, anyone of my friends at camp can come along and join in with me. Bodyboarding is also an absolutely great way for the kids to have a blast in the ocean. I have such fond memories from my childhood of going to the beach with my Dad and two brothers and all of us Bodyboarding together.  After an hour of that we were always well and truly wrecked. So, if you really want your kids to sleep well at night, give them a Bodyboard for your next beach trip and they’ll be sound asleep before you even make it home.

Now if you truly want some fun on the water then you can’t go passed tow tubing. Since as young as I can remember my family has owned a speed boat. Now I think I could nearly count on one hand the weekends we didn’t take the boat out. With two wild brothers and an even crazier Dad it’s pretty safe we were pretty into our tow tubing. We had a Three Person Tow Tube that was a flat curved design. Which suited us perfect as it allowed for some good tow tube war as my brothers, and I would try and push each other off all the while Dad was putting us on the whip.

For those days I’m after a little less high speed action and a little more serenity, going for a fish certainly seems to do the trick.  I love taking my Travel Fishing Rod & Reel on all my adventures as you never know when you might just get the chance, to have a quick flick. I find fishing to quite a relaxing and rewarding experience. There’s nothing more satisfying then managing to hook a huge fish on the end of my travel rod. Better yet if I end up eating it for dinner there’s nothing that taste better. There just something about catching a fish on your own Fishing Rod that adds extra flavour. Maybe it’s the flavour of accomplishment and true satisfaction. Hence why I love bringing along my Travel Fishing Rod & Reel and handy Tackle Box to every adventure

So as you can see there’s no better way to take advantage of the weather and water ways our great country Australia has to offer then getting into some good quality water sports. Whether your chasing mindfulness, adventure, fun, thrills or a sense of accomplishment there’s a water sport to suit your needs.
