It a beautiful summers morning, the crew can be seen packing the final items to their camper trailers. Whilst doing so they perform a brief rundown of their planned trip and thus the gear they’ve packed for it, specifying what is needed and what is a luxury. As when you have a camper trailer you don’t have to worry about being tight on space.

Arriving at In-skip point the crew let their tires down, of there vehicles but also on their camper trailer’s whilst doing so they discuss the purpose of airing down, some best recommendations for sand driving particular when towing a camping trailer and they share a few lighthearted stories of being “bogged at Inskip”.

After the barge the crew arrive at their first camp site and begin to unpack their gear. Robbo stars to inflate the standup paddle board his using a triple-action pump so he finishes in no time. John grabs the single seat kayak down from on top the camper trailer. Gazza starts to setup the gazebo while Barry unfolds out the 270-degree awning on the camper trailer. Underneath both the awning pulled out from Barry’s camper trailer and also Gazza gazebo is a mesh floor.

The next morning the crew head off to a new campsite towing their camper trailers they discuss the necessity particularly on Fraser Island for planning your trip around tide times and the differences between hard and soft sand. This is extremely important when towing a camper trailer.

Arriving at a beautiful camp site (catch mango) the crew begin setting up walking us through each of their personal camper trailer setups. Once completed they kick their feet up have a few drinks and watch a famous catch mango sunset so beautiful its fit for a post card.

Its dinner time, Fraser Island’s has a campfire band so luckily the crew came prepared and brought with them a trusty camp oven stove. This discus between themselves how to cook a mouth-watering camp oven meal. With full bellies the crew finish off a great day stare gazing in their throne chair and swapping childhood family camping stories.

The sun is shining so the crew makes the most of it and heads to the famous Lake McKenzie. Robbo cracks out his stand up paddle board and hit the water. John on the other hand grabs his single seat kayak and speeds off, quickly following Barry and Fred unstrap from the roof of camper trailer their double kayak. They both go flying passed as they have strapped to the back of their kayak an electric trolling motor. While the crew has some fun on the water using their SUP and kayaks they have a yarn about the background of some Fraser Island’s history, particularly mentioning the recent name change.

It’s time for some beach side tucker. After some fun in the sun the crew has earned themselves a quality lunch. Under the awning and on top a mesh floor the crew whip out the gasmate voyager portable gas BBQ and cook up a storm.

That’s enough fun it’s time for some work, the crew cast their lines into the iconic Platypus Bay. A picturesque Platypus Bay sunset, sets over the crew as they cruise along using their electric trolling motors and fishing from their kayaks.

They reel in some absolute beauties using the travel rod and reel. The crew discuss some information of Platypus Bay both about its great fishing opportunities and if in season the ability to whale watch.  Fished for the day the crew begin to pack up their watersports gear. The electric trolling motor is rinsed to get rid of the sea salt and then placed in the back of the camper trailer.  Robbo deflates his stand-up paddle board and rolls it into the carry bag, whilst both Barry and Fred strap their double kayak to the roof of the camper trailer.

You can’t get much fresher than this. The crew setup up at Waddy Point for the night and begin to teach us how to fillet the fresh beauties they just pulled from the sea. You can’t beat a fresh fish cooked over a fire so luckily Kings has them covered. The crew crack out the Kings camp oven stove and run it using heat beads thus having a completely legal self-contained fire. With the camp stove now crackling away the crew teach us some tips and tricks to cooking a beautiful fresh fish.

The crew exploring everything Fraser Island has to offer towing their legendary camper trailer with them. From the towering sand grown trees of the Central Station boardwalk and the centuries old subtropical rainforest of Pine Valley. Tucked out from the hike the crew brake out their swags and have a quick nap. legally part of the bruise highway the crew tow their camper trailers with the kayaks strapped to the roof and cruise down the infamous 75-mile beach know as Australian’s beach highway.

Its time again to crack out the water sports gear as the crew float down the crystal-clear waters of Eli Creek on their SUP and kayaks. For a bit of history, they explore the rustic ruins of the Maheno Shipwreck washing ashore in 1935 the Maheno was once a luxury cruise liner but is now an iconic part of Fraser Island. Fred then cracks out his bodyboard and goes for a quick surf afterwards to wash the salt of he uses a camping solar shower.

Adding a splash of colour the crew marvel at the breathtaking technicoloured sand cliffs and the dreamtime stories that come with it. For some added adventure the crew trek a sandy trail for a refreshing dip in the emerald-green oasis of Lake Wabby. Robbo couldn’t help himself so he grabbed his stand up paddle board and went for a quick paddle. At Indian Head the most easterly point of the island, the crew spot some spectacular marine life at the base of the headlands consisting of turtles and stingrays. The waves crash against the rocks creating an iconic sight as the crew float blissfully in the picturesque Champagne Pools.

Now on the barge heading back to mainland, the crew are having a laugh and discussing they favourite parts of the trip and that they can’t wait to do it all again.
