WHAT MAKES A NEXT GENERATION LED DRIVING LIGHT?

July 15, 2021   |   By Cahn Turner WHAT MAKES A NEXT GENERATION LED DRIVING LIGHT? - image 210407-Victoria-High-Country-Tom-and-Cullen-Resized-604-of-988 on https://news.emgcloud.net/news

Adventure Kings Lethal LED driving lights are a huge step up in technology and toughness – so much so that we’re calling them next-generation Driving Lights. Available as a pair of 7” driving lights and the hugely popular 9” driving lights, if you want the best value LED lights on the market then make sure you give these a look! They’re based on the strong and proven heritage of previous generations of Adventure Kings LED spot lights and by using what we’ve learned we’ve designed and built these to easily be the best driving lights we’ve ever offered – they’re right up there with the top driving lights on the market for a fraction of the cost!

First, the housing is tougher than ever – made with proven die cast alloy for the ideal combination of light weight and strength, they’re now even more solid with thicker edges and more cooling fins for superior output even in tough conditions. The housing is made with 6063 grade T5 heat treated die-cast alloy and is coated with UV resistant powder-coating to keep your Lethal Driving Lights looking good for life. The Lethal Light Housing are based on our hugely tough Adventure Kings Laser Lights with updated housings to suit the new designs. These housings are super tough while still being lightweight.

The seal, lens and locking ring have been re-designed for Lethal LED Driving Lights to be better than any previous Adventure Kings LED Driving Lights and they now feature a IP68 and IP69K rating – that means they’re waterproof even in a metre of water for an hour as well as being waterproof against high pressure jets of scalding hot water! The 8 bolt locking ring compresses the lens down onto the seal, which itself sits in a recessed position for maximum sealing surface area.

In fact the locking ring has a snug fitting lip against the light housing, then the lens has a contact surface against the rubber seal, plus there’s another lip on the lens itself for extra protection from dust and water ingress – that triple contact design means that Lethal Driving Lights have such a high quality and tough seal they’re ideal for 4WDing through any conditions and in any environment whether it’s fine dust or deep water.

The Lens on Lethal Driving Lights is polycarbonate, the same proven material that’s used in fighter plane cockpits and previous generations of Adventure Kings LED Driving Lights. In the new generation Lethal Lights it’s curved outwards, increasing rigidity and toughness as well as improving aerodynamics and self-cleaning properties – perfect for muddy conditions where simply driving forwards will force mud and water to the edges of the light, allowing the bright OSRAM LEDs to shine through and light up your path. Next there is the circuit board, electronics and LEDs themselves. Adventure Kings LETHAL Driving lights are fitted with OSRAM Oslon and OSRAM Osconiq LEDs for a huge amount of light output plus the reflectors have been specifically designed to make the most of each LED with deep circular central reflectors for excellent lux at a distance while the outside reflectors are designed to maximise spread.

The combination high quality OSRAM LEDs and special reflectors results in 1 lux at a massive 1342 metres and a combined 21,840 real world lumens per pair of 9” Lethal Lights. The 7” Lethal Lights are just as impressive for their size – able to output 15,274 lumens per pair and 1 lux at 987m. Not only is the amount of light at the distance it lights up incredible, but Lethal lights have also been redesigned to have a. Warmer colour temperature. Rather than the harsh white , almost blue, LED colour that’s typical of some Driving Lights, Lethal LED Driving Lights have a colour temperature of 5185 Kelvin, or 5185K. That’s a much warmer softer light that’s easier on the eyes for less eye strain, better shadow distinction and safer night drives wherever you are! Not only are they powerful and easy on the eyes, Adventure Kings Lethal LED Driving Lights are also EMC compliant to both IEC 61547:2020 and EN IEC 55015:2019+A11:2020 standards.

With such a good seal on the lens and compression ring, Lethal LED Driving Lights actually need a specially designed vent to allow the air inside to escape as it expands due to the heat generated by using the lights, so, Lethal spotties have a waterproof but breathable vent in the back of the housing, this design uses a polymer membrane made up of microscopic cells that are so small, they allow air through, but are thousands of times smaller than even a single water molecule! So water cannot flow through. This advanced technology means that Lethal Lights are IP68 and IP69K dust and water proof and you can rely on them even on those super tough, remote tracks. You can also rely on them to run efficiently – Lethal Led Driving Lights return an unbelievable 95 lumens per watt of power and for the two 9driving lights you’ll use less than 16A of power.

Finally, Lethal Driving Lights use a 4mm thick folded steel bracket with 4 adjustment bolts and three mounting bolts meaning once you position them and tighten them up there’s no need to touch them again. IF you’re after a set of high quality, rugged, ultra bright and advanced LED Driving Lights then you can’t beat the Adventure Kings Lethal Driving Lights. The combination of next generation technology and next level toughness are combined into a super reliable and super tough pair of driving lights that are suitable for everything from working in the paddocks, to remote touring to rock crawling and everything in between. If you’re looking for your new set of driving lights that’ll light up the night without straining your eyes or your wallet, you’ve found them.
