The future is LED Driving Lights and LASER driving lights!

May 10, 2021   |   By Cahn Turner The future is LED Driving Lights and LASER driving lights! - image on https://news.emgcloud.net/news

There’s nothing better than flicking your high beams on and instantly flooding everything ahead of you in bright light thanks to a pair of bright LED spotlights! It doesn’t matter if you’re heading on a long road trip along local or remote highways, travelling right out into the desert or the outback or just taking on your local tough tracks there’s no denying that a good set of LED driving lights are a necessity! They will help you see hazards hundreds of metres before you otherwise would, giving you precious time to react and safely stop or avoid any possible damage, animal strikes or issues! On tight tracks too LED Spotties will flood the immediate area in so much light you’ll easily pick the best line to drive while avoiding any un-drivable rocks, bog holes or low hanging branches.

The reason LED Driving Lights are so popular is because they’re so efficient in their output or their lumens per watt. Lumens per watt is a measure of how much total light your driving lights can put out and how much power they use to do it! So while a pair of halogen driving lights might be around 240W, and a pair of Adventure Kings 9” Domin8r Xtreme Driving Lights are just under 230W (meaning they’re using very close to the same power) the LED driving lights will out much more light! In fact the Adventure Kings 9” Driving lights put out over 19,000 lumens per pair – that translates to almost 90 lumens per watt – which even HID driving lights can not beat in the real world! While an HID bulb might achieve 120lm/w, once it’s actually put into a light housing it suffers losses bringing it down to around 30lm/w. LED spot lights are so good because they combine multiple LED chips to create one high output light! While there might be 30, 40 or even 50 individual LEDs in each driving light or lightbar, they are all low power and even when combined don’t drain much power at all!

The individual LEDs inside LED spotlights also convert comparatively little energy into heat, unlike other types of light bulbs – this does enhance they efficiency obviously but it also means you can fit them in smaller housings or irregular shapes without detracting from their performance! For example, you can get a pair of 7” LED Driving lights and they’ll still put out a huge amount of light – even without a giant reflector. That means your LED driving lights aren’t as deep as similarly size halogen driving lights so it’s easier to fit them on your bullbar or roof racks. It also means that you can choose different shaped LED driving lights and still get the most out of them – a great example is the range of LED lightbars that are now available – using old technology you’d never be able to get such a huge amount of light out of a housing of that shape – particularly if you’re talking about a slim line LED lightbar! You can also get auxiliary lights in small housing that still put out a huge amount of light – such as the 4” LED light bar or the super bright 3” LED work lights – they’re both ideal for use as camp lights, reverse lights or just more light up front!

The next evolution in LED lighting are laser driving lights and Laser lightbars – these combine all the great attributes of LED driving lights and add a hugely powerful laser module to the centre to add a massive amount of spot light! Though it’s important to note that on their own LED Dreiving lights are able too throw light an incredibly long way – the Adventure Kings 9” Domin8r Xtreme Driving Lights have a huge 1 lux at 1384m per pair which is plenty for most people! It’s just that similarly sized 8.5” Laser Driving lights can put out 1 lux to nearly 2km! So if you really do want the best you can’t beat the combination of laser and LED in laser driving lights. Again, because they don’t need huge reflectors like Halogen or HID lights, you can even use the laser modules in lights bars and Adventure Kings has a range of Laser Light Bars to suit just about every vehicle! When you want the ultimate spot and spread of light then it’s hard to beat a pair of Laser Driving Lights and a Laser light bar – that way you get three incredibly bright spots for kilometres down the road, but you also get the benefit of the surrounding LEDs to light up your immediate area.

It is important thought to choose quality LED Light bars and LED Driving lights. It seems far too easy these days to just make up facts and figures about LED spotties and not back them up with any testing or reports. Adventure Kings LED driving lights are all independently tested and the actual real world lumens and lux figures  are shown – definitely not the ‘raw’ lumens. Which is the maximum amount of light that one single LED chip is capable of in perfect conditions in the lab, and then multiplied by the amount of LEDS in the LED driving lights themselves. One of the biggest points here is that Adventure Kings LED Driving Lights are fitted with genuine OSRAM LED chips which is why they’re so bright and have such good clarity. You’ll find OSRAM LED chips in the Adventure Kings Domin8r Xtreme driving lights, the Slimline light bar range , plus the laser light bar range and of course both the 7” laser driving lights and the 8.5” laser driving lights.
