When looking at all the accessories available online, you would be easily tricked into paying some mug, far too much money to do a job that would take a trained monkey an hour or two to knock out, and the average punter about 10-15 minutes to figure out by themselves.

Other than the massive cost savings, doing it yourself is a fantastic way to learn more about your 4WD. By investing a bit of time into figuring out how to install, upgrade modify, or even just maintain your 4WD you equip yourself with some nearly universal skills which are far more valuable than a set of tools that will translate to just about any vehicle you ever own, wherever you are in the world!

By learning some simple skills, larger jobs won’t be as intimidating, things like learning how to do a simple oil change, or even just changing a tyre, will mean, when your water pump needs replacing, the complicated job will appear to be a string of smaller, easier jobs that are much more manageable than the bigger picture previously imagined.

PROPER SET OF TOOLS

All D.I.Y. jobs require one thing to be successful, Tools! Without tools you won’t be able to do anything, Screws, nuts, bolts and even hoses, clamps and wiring won’t be doing too much without the tools of the trade. Equipped with some of the best tools of the trade.

The Adventure Kings range of tools are some of the best value D.I.Y. tools on the market and equipped with the right tools makes DIY upgrades so much easier.

With Adventure Kings Complete 74 Piece Tool Box in your shed you are equipped with a 17” long 1/2” breaker bar for busting loose rusty nuts, they say that if you have a large enough lever you can move the world.

With a handful of sockets, and spanners, screwdrivers and pliers – even a hammer and wire strippers.

If you jump into an Adventure Kings Bush Mechanic Tool Kit you’ll also be equipped with a 12” hand saw a file and a set of screwdrivers, that has a through tang which allows you to hit them with a hammer to help loosen rusted fasteners, and even put a ratchet of the spanner on the end of the screwdriver.

UPGRADES

Dual Battery

Connecting up a dual battery system is one of the first upgrades many people choose to install in their 4WD. By connecting a second battery to your 12v system – you open up a massive world of options for campsite lighting, portable refrigeration, and even the ability to crank tunes well into the evening without needing to start your vehicles engine periodically to top up.

Connecting up a dual battery system, is a lot simpler than it sounds, by choosing a CTEK D250A DC/DC Charger you can literally paint by numbers with the installation, connecting your accessories battery to the second battery post,  your 12v main battery directly to the “A” post which senses the alternators input and distributes the voltage as necessary, and finally the Integrated 12v Solar input senses the solar output and applies a MPPT voltage control that distributes the battery voltage between both batteries.

LED Driving lights

With your dual batteries connected, running a set of 12v Driving lights is easy – when you choose an easy to install LED Driving light Wiring harness you can setup your lights in just a couple of minutes.

The Adventure Kings Domin8r 9” LED Driving Lights install extremely easily, by simply plugging the plug and go wiring harness. This smart harness simply connects and intercepts between the headlights and the vehicles standard headlight wiring to switch automatically as soon as your high beams are engaged.

With some simple hand tools, you can install your LED Driving lights in just an afternoon thanks to Adventure Kings!

Rear Drawers

For ultimate organization both on and off the tracks a set of Titan Rear Drawers in the back of your 4WD make getting your gear in order so much simpler whether you are on the tracks, at the jobsite and even through day to day!

Installing a set of titan rear drawers only requires simple hand tools. With a set of screw drivers, Alan Keys and some simple spanners. All Titan Rear Drawers use a nearly universal installation adjustable “ladder” fastening system to directly bolt your Titan Rear Drawers to the floor of your 4WD!

With the universal fit, you can install a set of Titan Rear drawers in just an afternoon, with next to no help thanks to a very clever and durable design!

Roof Racks

No-one denies the practical nature of adding a sturdy steel roof rack to the roof of your 4WD! However, the prohibitive cost of many roof rack manufacturers, means that many 4WDers try to cram their whole campsite setup inside their 4WD. Which makes life tough when you are on the tracks, and restricts you into not being able to bring larger items with you like bikes, kayaks, surfboards and even your Adventure Kings 6m x 3m Gazebo!

Installation of a tough steel roof rack is extremely sturdy, and quite easy to install, by having pre-drilled holes and specific brackets for listed models of vehicles and can be put together with just a handful of simple hand tools.

Awning

The limitations removed by installing a Steel Roof Rack, means that you open your vehicle to a handful of upgrades and modifications, such as the Adventure Kings Awnings, being able to be fit to just about any vehicle, the Awning mounting brackets are included in every single awning and can be fastened with just 8 small bolts.

All awnings have molded channels on the rear side, with the fasteners fitting in the channel neatly you simply slide them along and fasten the Awning to the mounting brackets.

Roof Top Tents

With a flat steel roof rack, or a roof top tent rack you can easily fasten one of the most popular styles of roof top tents available in Australia. The Adventure Kings Roof Top Tent range includes both the Tourer and Weekender which can be found in campsite locations all across Australia due to their excellent value for money.

Roof Top tents are designed to be easy to install and simple to setup and installation can be done with just 1 additional person to help lift the Roof Top Tent onto the roof of your vehicle. With a simple spanner will allow you to fasten a roof top Tent to the mesh of the Steel Racks from 4WD Supacentre.

Exhaust Upgrade

When looking at simple vehicle enhancements you can perform in the driveway you cannot look past the easy upgrade of the Domin8r 409 Stainless steel exhaust and the Domin8r Aluminised Steel Exhausts.

By simply unbolting the restrictive and choking factory exhaust system and installing a mandrel bent, turbo back high performance Domin8r exhaust system.

With just a handful of bolts you’ll have no trouble with all the right tools from Adventure Kings!

Suspension Kit

Just like all the other additions to your 4WD, everyone idolizes a lifted 4WD – By installing a set of Raw 4X4 Suspension – not only do Raw Suspensions components offer plenty of performance for the dollar, but they also install in place of the standard suspension components without needing to undergo extreme modifications such as replacing all of the steering components and even things like trailing arms, etc..

Raw suspension can be installed with a standard vehicle jack and a weekend in the shed!

By equipping the back of your 4WD and your shed with Adventure Kings tools you can save thousands on installation costs and learn a heck of a lot about the inner workings of your 4WD, making sure that no matter what you encounter on the tracks you can get yourself back on the road!
