The Benfits of GroundGrabba Stakes

Setting up at a long-awaited camping trip during the school holidays on a sandy surface can be a
whole different kettle of fish when it comes to keeping your campsite secure especially in windier
conditions and this is due to the unsecure nature of the soft surface you’re parked up on and the
fact that as you drive tent pegs of anchor points into sand it simply moves out the way and the
whole becomes bigger than you want it to, thus not clenching as tight as you’d wish for maximum
strength over time, now you have a simple fix which will be worth its weight in gold…
Since the first-time campers began using tents and large swags, they’ve used anchorage points and
tent pegs with small twine, string, or even rope to hold their structures in place and keep them
sturdy throughout wind, rain, storms and even just generally keeping them up when they simply
want to fall over thanks to their own weight and instability. We’ve all been down the road of having
trouble trying to bash a tent peg in, and not even the next person to grab the hammer has had much
luck, or when you think you have managed to get it driven into the ground nice and deep and all of a
sudden you hear that awful twang and the twine goes flying across your campsite because its own
tension has become too much for the tent peg that was on slightly the wrong angle, and sometimes
this results in the whole structure coming down, putting you back to square one and making you
start the whole building process once again. We all know just how frustrating this can be, and we
feel you.. But wait, the solution is coming!
When you think of the types of surfaces you come across in a range of different camping areas
whether it be soft, hard, muddy, clay or pesky sand with crumbly surface and nothing useful
underneath the surface either it can be enough to turn you off from wanting to visit certain places,
because at the end of the day setting up your gear securely is the first point of safety when arriving
at the campsite, because you don’t want any of it coming down on you during the night. An example
of the stability of something like sand is shown when trying to build a sandcastle, and we all know
just how annoying it can be having to pat it constantly with a small spade to keep every little crumb
of sand in place so that you’re structure stays upright, and this just proves how strong sand is and
how well it will hold together as you push your tent peg into its surface.. not very, and not at all! Of
course, we’re trying to set up a campsite, not build sandcastles, so we definitely want to have more
layers of stability to keep the show moving.
Now there are other ways to anchor you’re sleeping dens to keep them upright and some even
boast that they can stay upright on their own without anchorage points or tiedowns and this is great
but not everyone has one of those and it pays to still have the opportunity to anchor if possible as
we all know weather conditions can change quickly and the last thing you want is your tent or swag
coming down with its heavy canvas and PVC materials in the middle of the night, when you have
next to no light to set it back up again.
Thanks to Australian ingenuity there is now such thing that you can use as a sand tent peg to keep
your tent safe and to keep it solid inside the ground wherever you decide to put it for anchorage.
Thanks to its clever design in the form of a screw shape it is much easier to get it into the surface
and keep going in deep while forming a screw shape inside the ground the hold it solid and not allow
it to simply slide straight out. You can either screw it in by hand, or it has a super handy hex head on
it so you can use a bit of battery powered forced to quickly drill it into place making it tight than your
bare hands certainly could. This is also a life saver when it comes to stiffer ground and those hard
clay areas as you can now bring out the handy power tools and get the job done in no time, try doing
that with a standard tent peg!

With that being said this gives you peace of mind in knowing that just how strong it will hold, and it
will save you a lot of time and effort when it comes to setting up and packing down and it may even
with hold those drunken stumbles where somebody decides to kick the tent rope and go for a
tumble in the middle of the night. This way you can make sure your structures are super secure and
you will have all the tent pegs in place in no time with full strength in tact still, not only that but
they’ll take a quick buzz on reverse with the drill to get them out at the end of your adventure,
making sure you never have to use the back of the claw hammer and all of your force to pack up
your site.
If you make your way to 4WD Supacentre, you will see this camping ingenuity on offer with the
GroundGrabba stakes, which will be sure to help you level up your camping game so you can spend
more time taking part in the adventures than setting up your gear. Not only are they perfect for any
type of surface, but they’re also bright orange which is a welcome change from the dull stainless
tent pegs that are near on impossible to see with their tips hanging out of the ground, so an easy
safety upgrade aswell.
