The mighty swag is a unique Aussie invention, and it’s so perfectly suited to our type of camping we do here in Australia. They’re tough, easy to setup and pack away to next to nothing. Here at 4WD Supacentre we’ve been working hard to refine the humble swag over the last couple of years, and we now offer a range of five different swags to suit all different types of campers. Whether you’re looking for a basic single-person swag or a swag that is big enough to fit the entire family, we’ve got you covered!

We absolutely love camping in our swags, and over the years we’ve thought long and hard about how to upgrade a swag-based campsite for maximum comfort. Here’s our pick of the top 6 upgrades that’ll take your swag to the next level!

1. MESH FLOOR
   There’s a time for rolling around in the mud having fun, but it’s not when you want to hop into your nice clean swag at the end of the night! One of the biggest, most effective ways to upgrade your swag is also the simplest – a simple mesh floor like the ones we sell here at 4WD Supacentre. Peg it out on the ground before you open your swag up, and you’ve got a nice clean floor completely surrounding your swag. A mesh floor keeps the bottom of your swag clean, means you don’t have to kneel in the dirt when rolling up your swag and gives you somewhere clean to stand while you put your boots on or take them off.
2. GAZEBO
   All of the Adventure Kings swags are made waterproof, but there’s something extra-comforting about having an extra roof over your head on rainy nights. An Adventure Kings 3×3 gazebo or 3×6 gazebo is perfect for throwing your swag under. On rainy nights, it means you don’t need to be completely zipped up in your swag, either. Definitely a very worthwhile upgrade.
3. EXTRA TENT POLES
   Here’s a beaut little feature of the Big Daddy swags. The two outer canvas flaps, when unzipped, can be setup as mini awnings with the use of a couple of short tent poles! Peg them out to keep them standing upright and you’ve got an awning off each side of your swag to hang out under, or keep the sun off you while you doze off last night’s extra couple of coldies.
4. INTERNAL FAN & LIGHT
   Righto, when you add a beaut little internal fan and light like the one we sell at 4WD Supacentre, you’ll be the most popular bloke in your swag! It sounds simple but these two little additions make such a huge difference. Plus, our fan/light runs off standard D-cell batteries so there’s no worries about trying to remember to recharge it, or running long extension leads out to your swag. For a little jigger this packs a serious punch too!
5. STRETCHER
   Depending on where you’re camping – particularly if it’s wet – it’s not always the most enjoyable experience to roll your swag out directly onto the ground. A mesh floor definitely helps, but if you have one of the Adventure Kings single swags, then the Adventure Kings Sumo Stretcher Bed will make you feel like you’re sleeping on Cloud 9! Also great if you’re somewhere like Cape York where it feels a bit safer to not be sleeping down on the ground.
